Hetti Price is quickly earning a reputation as an outstanding chamber musician and continuo player. Having studied on a full scholarship at Birmingham Conservatoire under the tutelage of Richard Lester, Richard Jenkinson, Joseph Crouch and Henrk Persson, she was then offered a Junior Fellowship to continue to study and coach chamber music. She regularly performs in differing venues across the UK, which include intimate chamber music society venues, and larger establishments such as the Southbank Centre in London, Birmingham Town Hall, Sheffield Town Hall and the Warwick Arts Centre. She has recently completed a 27-date UK tour with Lady Georgianna, and was invited to attend the prestigious International Musicians Seminar at Prussia Cove with the Hepplewhite Piano Trio. Next year she will be recording for Convivium Records with this group, and will be doing a two week tour of China. She has also won, amongst others, the Sylvia Cleaver Chamber Music Prize, the Derek Young Memorial Award for Chamber Music, the Birmingham Symphony Hall Prize, the Leamington Prize, the Corton Hyde Early Music Prize, the Ambache Prize, the Birmingham Conservatoire Strings Prize, the Doris Newton Club Prize, and the Birmingham Conservatoire Concerto Prize. She has also been offered awards from the Musicians Benevolent Fund, the Leverhulme Trust, the Carlton House Charitable Trust, the EMI Foundation, the Macfarlane Walker Trust, the Modiano Trust, the Roger and Sarah Bancroft Clark Charitable Trust, the Rowley Trust, the Wolfson Foundation, the Loan Fund for Musical Instruments, the Finzi Trust and the Lynn Foundation.
She plays a wide variety of period instruments including the baroque, classical and modern cello, the bass violin, the viola da gamba and the arpeggione. Next year Hetti has been offered a full scholarship to undertake a Phd at Birmingham University, where she will be researching the bass violin in England.
