5 string cello

There are various baroque pieces that call for a five string cello (rather than a normal four string instrument). The most famous of these pieces is Bach’s sixth unaccompanied cello suite, which is what I mostly use my five string cello for. A cello’s strings are tuned in fifths: A, D, G, C (top to bottom), and the fifth string is an E, a fifth above the normal top cello string.
