Treble Viol

The treble viol was one of the smallest members of the viol family, and is of a similar relation to the bass viol that the violin is to the cello. Rather than a solo instrument, it is mostly played alongside other instruments: most commonly in viol consorts (chamber ensembles of 3 or more viols, usually of different sizes). My instrument is made by the English luthier Jane Julier and was made in 2016.
